At Calvary Chapel we are blessed with an abundance of children. We see this blessing as a sacred trust from the Lord. We want to echo our Lord’s words “Let the children come unto me”. Therefore we are committed to the goal of providing a quality children’s ministry program with an emphasis on Biblical content and a creative application of spiritual principles.
We realize, however, that the Lord has granted the responsibility for the spiritual training of children to their parents:
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” – - Dt. 6:6-9
“He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.” – - Isaiah 40:11
Because of this, we encourage parents to be involved in the ministry to children here at Calvary Sacramento – that you may learn better how to instruct your children in the way that they should go. This instruction may begin by simply reinforcing throughout the week the teaching your child has received on Sunday morning.
